Six...

I went out on the town with Rory last night to take some birthday pictures and we had a great time. His Birthday is still just over a week away, on Sept. 12th but he kept asking to do pictures, so we did. I think Rory now knows I tend to take their birthday shots before the day! He is such a happy and silly boy. We just adore you Rory and we are all very proud of how hard you push yourself and of how far you have come. You are destined to do amazing things my love!

Fun Run~ Part 1

Rory had his first school fundraiser of Kindergarten. The Boosterthon Fun Run. They Run 35 laps around a track and family members usually sponsor them to raise money. This was Rory's first time participating, and he LOVED it!!! We knew he would. The boy is always happiest when he is running. It was sweet to see him out there running with classmates, him and another boy would tag each other so often and then giggle and run ahead. This years was early so I brought Rebecca with her bag of cereal, and she was happy. she had a blast cheering for her brother as well. We had a great time!

Losing...

Ok, I have not had A proper Fuad weight loss update in a bit, so he will be the first topic of discussion. All 180 lbs. of him. Yea, you heard right! Fuad has shrunk from a 44" waist to a 38" and is feeling great! He comes home most evenings and runs at least 3 laps around the hood before dinner. And that is after a full days work. He is awesome and he knows it!

Next up is Rory who is only going to be 6 in a week or so. I told him after his Birthday it will take 2 hands to count his age, and he seemed a little sad . Of course he is thrilled to be turning a year older so that he can "grow to be big just like my Dad." We love our silly boy and are happy he is ours. I am hoping to get some birthday pictures, but we will see if I ever have some spare time to allow for that. If we do them, you will see 'em.

Lastly, I have been trying to work off a few lbs. as well. I have slimmed down for sure because everything is fitting loose. But since we have no scale at home, I have no start/end numbers to throw at you. I do have this sweet little picture I took with Rebecca this morning though. So enjoy!

Kindergarten Vs. Third Grade

It's that time again... Back to school! Rory is now starting Kindergarten and will be in a Reg. ed. class for about 40% of the day to start. He seems super excited and we feel really good about his teachers. Rory is set up to succeed!

Dakota is now in Third grade and this is the first year he will be going to different classes for Math and Science. He feels like a much more grown up kid and asked if he could be a hall monitor when he gets into 5th grade! We said it is something to work towards. Fuad and I am very excited for this school year and we are hoping the kids continue to love school each day.

Last of the Birthday fun~UPDATED!

Ok, this will be the last Dakota birthday post, promise! But fair warning, it will get updated over the weekend. Dakota's aunt and uncle work during the week, so we will have the birthday cake and other goodies then. It is hard for Dakota having a summer birthday because basiclly ALL of his friends are away on vacation. So we got him the new Lorax movie and he watched it with a couple of friends, then I put up the bounce house and let them go wild for the afternoon. After the friends had to head home we had Mema and Grandpa Jack over and had dinner and cupcakes and presents! We love our young man Dakota.

Our kids and Dakota's friends watching the Lorax.

                          Singing Happy Birthday

                           We love our Shel Silverstein

                          Season 3 of Batman!

Mouse guard comic and some Ben 10 figures.
               our little bunch of crazies!

I snapped a picture of Dakota before a few of his friends came over to celebrate. Lucky for us 2 of his friends came back in town the night before. I know it was a small party compared to most of his birthdays, but it was still a good time and the kids had a lot of fun!
