San Fransisco trip

We had a great trip to San Francisco. It was a trip into my past and a new adventure for Darla. I was able to show Darla the couple of places I lived and worked while I was there. We ate at some places that I used to enjoy eating at. Tommy's Joynt on Van Ness makes some great sandwiches and has a couple of cool murals outside the building. We walked down Lombard Street, walked up to Coit tower, watched the fog roll in at the Golden Gate Bridge, see China town, North Beach, the Haight, Grace Cathedral and even went back in time at Alcatraz. The city is still as I remember it. There were some suprising changes though. The Virgin record store was closed. The Sony Metreon is no longer the theater to go to. It is know a Loews theater and shows old movies. Unfortunetly the homeless are still a big presence and won't change anytime soon. I guess they haven't adopted other cities policies of buying them a one way ticket out of town. We stayed at the Hilton Union Square. We loved it. Nice and clean. Darla found a great place for cupcakes. This little bakery a block from the hotel. Cako Bakery according to Darla makes the best cupcakes she has ever had. The Mocha and Pink Champagne were her favorites. The best for both of us was being to enjoy the cable car rides over nob hill going to the warf and the view of the bay you get as you crest . We also enjoyed being able to talk to each other without kids interrupting, and spending quality time together. Can't wait for our next trip....

More painting

I really do need an art studio in the house again. Without it,I just keep repainting the home! Last week I painted the dining room a darker brown, Fuad actually gave me the idea we should change the color. So I went to the garage to check out my options,and this wonderful color called "english saddle" jumped into my arms! Something about painting that is just so relaxing for me. Anytime I find myself stressed out, I end up painting. I guess it is a good thing my husband doesn't mind!
