My sweet girl. I love having some time just us girls again. Lately my days have been pretty hectic, and we have not gotten to get out much. This morning was like every other morning and Rebecca was up with her brothers. Once they got on their buses I got her dressed and we went to enjoy the sunrise, take some pictures and share some giggles. Rebecca has been asking me to take her picture with glitter ever since she saw THIS . So I found some fine craft glitter and off we went. I love having a girl, and I love hanging with her. She is such fun. A girl version of Dakota, we have said a million times! Next week she will start pre-k and our silly mornings will turn into school mornings. So we are having our fun while we can!
And as I am learning more about the art of photography, I put together my very first before and after!
This took me only about 15 seconds to edit, because I actually did a good job with getting the light right in camera. a little curves adjusting and a tiny hint of warmth and done.

Back to school
Well the kids went back to school on Aug. 21st. Rory began First grade (and so far LOVES it!) And Dakota is in Fourth already! I took a couple quick pictures of the boys on instagram, but I can not figure out how to get them onto the blog. I am not a tech girl it seems...
Anyhow, I did drag my camera with me when it was time to get the kids off the bus. But with Rory and Dakota's bus coming at nearly the same time, I missed out on the traditional picture of Kota coming off the bus. Instead, I got him somewhere in the background here.
And of course Rebecca had a huge meltdown that preschool does not start till after Labor Day, so I took her out for cupcakes at the local cupcake shop! All in all, the kids had a great first week, and we are looking forward to another great school year!

New furninture makes me happy
Our living room got a facelift...finally. Yes, we went back to neutrals, it is where we are meant to be. Apparently right along more monochromatic color schemes. It feels a lot more like "us" now. And we are hoping that the kids are listening as we ask them to go outside for a trampoline!

It's that time, Dakota's turning 9
Alright, it's that time of year again. We wrap up another year and welcome in the last of Dakota's single digit Birthdays. Which also means a more grown up (yet still super silly) Dakota and a very weepy mother. Okay, I am not weeping. But I am left wondering how time passed by that quickly. I mean, 9 years!
Dakota is still very much the same kid he has always been. He is still really into superheroes. Still always laughing, and caring, and just generally happy. He still loves to come snuggle up with me in the mornings that he wakes up before the others. And thinks anything to do with the topic of farts is just the best. We took the kids to see Despicable me 2 for the 4th of July, and I am STILL hearing about the fart guns. Oy.
We wish Dakota a great Birthday and another year full of laughs, snuggles, craziness, and more. We pray that he will always stay true to himself, always care for others, and always stay the fun loving kid he is. Happy Birthday Kota. We love you!

Almost nine years ago...
Oh my sweet Dakota. You made us parents, and it has been non stop ever since! Born 4 mins. before midnight on Aug. 9th, Me looking like a total mess from 17 hours of labor.
We finally got released on Aug. 13th only to have to seek shelter from the hurricane bearing down on little Ft. Myers, Fl. We hid out at my parents since it was so far inland, and rode out the storm with our 4 day old in tow. It was the most hectic first week of parenthood.

52 week project, week thirty one
Week 31: Pretend
I was in a que to get into the "doctor's office" when I snapped this giggly shot. Dakota and his sister have a very happy and silly bond! And since I rarely get all the kids together, I also added Dr. Rory below!
