Slacker

I know I have been slacking on my blog lately... I haven't had much motivation to write about anything in particular. I also realize I mostly started this blog to update far away friends and family about us,especially the kids!So this post is mostly just for update purposes.
~Rebecca is a crawling machine! She is getting into all sorts of things, she loves to look through books, and cracks up at cat toys! She is almost always the happiest baby you will ever meet! We just adore our little Becca.
~Rory has really picked up on his speech! He also sings some nursery rhymes(wheels on the bus, ring around the rosey, and 5 little monkeys) Rory is getting much better at listening, and has even held hands at stores and walked without having to be tethered down! He too is a very happy child and we are so very proud of him!
~Dakota is officially a reading child. He has taken off running with reading. Of course he still struggles to remember all the rules of reading (such as silent "e")
but is doing so well and loves to bring in books to read to his class. Lucky my mom was a teacher and taught me well and now I get to experience the same fun in teaching my own children!
~Lastly Fuad and I are going for a vacation/ honeymoon finally in April! We are uber-excited and are sure to have lots of fun! I am so glad that the holidays are here. I have been counting the days till the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (Fuad whining the whole way) But for as far back as I can remember Mom would blair it on T.V while cooking and I loved it every year. Unfortunately my kids aren't quite as enthusiastic but they do turn their attention to the Rockefeller dancers, and many of the balloons. I have also begun my baking frenzy and LOVE,LOVE,LOVE IT! So that is it for us. I will begin posting more interesting posts soon...Till then, take care!

Invasion

We were invaded last week by this horrible illness, maybe you heard of it? SWINE FLU!!! Oh my friggin gosh I was so ill I went to hospital. I get home at about 8:30 pm from said hospital, take my meds and pass out. Only to be woken up at 2am by a feverish child screaming to the highest bit of heaven for relief! So lucky for me Fuad took her...I couldn't go on. He got home at about 6am and slept for like an hour. The day rolls on, Becca and I sicker then hell, when Rory getes home with NO VOICE! great... So Fuad was back out to the doctor again and by the end of the day everyone but Kota had been condemned to live the next few days with the plague of doom!
Now I understand Rory's whining when he cannot communicate something with us. But He has been whining for the sake of it! He laid down on the couch, (a regular couch mind you,we haven't replaced it with a pile of bricks just yet or anything) And he whined and cried about laying down for about 10 mins!! Are you kidding me? If it's that bad just get back up I said! No Luck. Anyhow, that has been our last fun filled week at home!
aww, what a cute couple!
Happy birthday Fuad!Love you.

Tricky Treat!

the excitement of halloween was lost on Rebecca...

This year Halloween was quite different. For one thing it was like 70 degrees and muggy as hell. For another it rained. and I don't mean the odd sprinkle, I mean when my kids and husband got back they were drenched! And my husband brought an umbrella. I missed out on the festivities, since our little Becca had a double ear infection, which I did not want to get any worse. So while us girls stayed at home handing out candy, the boys braved the rain in search of candies.

Rory and Dakota did very well this year. Rory followed behind his brother, and assisted by saying "Tricky treat" at almost every home. Followed by "Banks" for thanks about half the time. For those of you who have joined us in past years know that Rory is either to scared to walk up to houses alone, or cannot be trusted not to bolt once let loose. Which I was so proud to hear wasn't the case this year. Dakota came home and sorted through all his loot, of what he was willing to share, and what was not to be touched...or else!

All in all, I am so happy that the kids are doing better every year, and glad that we all got to have a good time.
