Brighter

Alright, another DIY project done. This time it was our orangey/brown builder grade bannister hand rail. While ultimatly I would love to get a brand new fancy one...it ain't gonna happen. SO, I sanded ours down, primed and painted it a lovely clean white! I am not going to lie,I am a little in shock because I am so used to the orange brown color mentioned before. But I think I like it!

Dakota update

Dakota is already telling me about 2nd grade and how he is growing up so fast! ::wah:: We are happy that he is looking forward to it. Dakota loves to come home and tell us about what he learned in school, and last night sat at the table for 15 min. telling me about different types of onomatopoeia's. He thought is was the best. Kota loves to read and write. We are still working on Math with him, but he is coming along really well! I am looking forward to summer break with my kids and having all sorts of good times!

Rory updates

Rory is doing REALLY well at the moment! His communication is out of this world awesome, and he is definately engaging with Kota and Rebecca more. He will start a sort of practice Kindergarten next year. He will still be in pre-k, but it is sort of like a dry run of what is expected in K. I think Rory will be happy. He is learning reading, and working on Math. He is such a bright boy. We are so very proud of how far he has come!

To die for...

Rebeeca and I went and picked strawberries the other morning at our local u-pick. It was sort of cloudy and just a nice calm morning. We came home cleaned them all up and then got to work on some recipes. With school nearly finished I find myself trying to cram in as much as I can before we loose our girl time for the summer.

So anyhow, I have made one of my new favorite desserts of ALL TIME! This is a strawberry shortbread bar with a lemon zest custard on top. And let me just say,it is to die for yummo! It is just the best spring time dessert, light and fruity. What more could you ask for.

First haircut

Rebecca got her first full haircut today! She looks so grown up and I am sad to say that at the nape of her neck is beginning to darken. She seems happy with her lower maintenance do and as long as she is happy, so are we! I will do a mega catchup on our boys soon. I know these last couple have been all Rebecca, all day! In the meantime, enjoy the silly pictures, and hope everyone has a great week!
