Rebecca has been feeling pretty lousy the last few days. it started in the middle of our trip to the mountains, poor baby. So we have just been sanitizing and lounging around the house. Today she came with her princess camera and said "cheese mommy" and then told me it was my turn to tell her to say cheese. but she would not hand over her camera. so I grabbed mine and asked if she wanted to take a picture out back. Of course she did! So we grabbed some apples from the bag and took a couple quick pictures! I am happy Rebecca is almost back to her cheery self. I don't like it at all when our kiddos get sick>

Chimney Rock

Here are some shots of us at Chimney rock. Alot changed since we were there a couple years back. They finally put in decent stairs! It used to be that you had to go down rocks that were sort of carved into steps, and nothing to hold on to. ON A MOUNTAIN SIDE! And they do not have the lounge open at the top anymore. Which means no restroom for the kids at the top. Lucky that was not a problem on this trip. We all had alot of fun and the kids looked down at all the little towns below. We are all so happy here, and happy we can let our children see these simple pleasures we have nearby.

Apple pickin' 2011
We had another wonderful time in the mountains picking apples and having adventures. It was a little worrying because it was SO foggy and we weren't sure if it would rain or what. By the time we got to the orchards it was beautiful! We all went and picked apples, and then went to Chimney Rock again so the kids could see the top of a mountain. The boys loved going up and down about 7,049 stairs! (not sure that is an accurate guess, it felt like more.) None the less we had a great time and had a nice fall day together as a family. We are currently tallying the votes on what to make first. Here is a peek of our apple orchard adventure!

Dear Irene

This post is to my favorite blog follower. My wonderful Nanny. I wish we lived closer to you and could bring the kids to visit you. But I know that this makes your heart happy as well. These kids keep on growing so fast, I am glad I have somewhere to share them all with my family. We all love you so much Nanny! Enjoy the new pictures. Kocham CiÄ™ Babciu. Love,Darla

SLOW DOWN

So, this is my favorite picture of Rebecca, possibly ever! She was my sweet little baby and could not even sit up yet! This is how little she was it seems like yesterday. and then when I was just looking through pictures of Rory "tree climbing" (See post below) I saw THIS!
She is still tiny, sure. but she is growing up like mad! Rebecca has feelings, and opinions...I cannot seem to slow it down! I love that we have this time together don't get me wrong. But she is my LAST ONE! Isn't there any way to slow time down just a bit???
Rory's school project
So today Rory had a project to send in a picture of his favorite thing to do. I just assumed it would be watching T.V. or playing his robots. Rory tells me his favorite thing to do is climb trees....uh,alright. I told him to pick something else since our trees at the house are not really big enough to climb. Rory tells me he likes to climb the trees in the woods, and asks to show me. Rebecca was game, so I followed Rory behind our neighbors and into the woods.

Now, what I call "tree climbing" and what Rory calls "tree climbing" are 2 wildly different things.Rory should call it "tree balancing" instead. None the less, he had a great time keeping balance on the fallen trees and Rebecca sort of just hammed it up the whole time (I know, go figure.)I do love that Rory has an opinion of his own though. It is certainly something we were not sure he would ever get.

Thank you Mema!
A big thank you to Mema for the sweet little snoopy flying ace!

Rory is so excited and has been running through the backyard, yelling to watch out for the red baron! Sadly, Rebecca also seems to love it and the picture that follows is a result of her not being able to have a turn with the flying aces!

Fun Run 2011

Today Dakota had the Boosterthon Fun Run at school. He was SOOO excited to run laps and be silly. Rebecca and I got to go and cheer him on because Rory had school today. (Normally I would not go since Fun Run has always been on a Friday.) Rebecca was not too thrilled about standing around outside and just watching everyone run by. I bought some time by giving her snacks, but in the end she still whined to go home. Dakota had a great time though! We cheered him on and took some cute pictures. It was nice to be able to hang out with Dakota at school for a bit to watch him have fun!
