Christmas snow

We got snow for an extra Christmas day present! although we did not go out to enjoy it until the day after, but what fun we had! The boys and I had an epic snowball fight, and Rebecca attempted to color the snow with sidewalk chalk. We love being able to watch our children enjoy the different seasons, and enjoying time together.

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas once again! We kept things really simple this year, and refrained from going over the top as we often do. Fuad and I were also thrilled that my parents could spend Christmas with us this year. It was wonderful to have the family together and watch the kids enjoy the special day being kids. Merry Christmas to all our friends and family. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season.

Rebecca got some new mega blocks.

Just ignore this post

Do not bother with this post. It is just to those couple of you that have listened to me fuss over these adorable plates that I got, on clearance, for $20.00!!! They were a steal. I was going to wait till Christmas to give them to Rebecca....but got tired of waiting. So, here they are. The cutest stinkin' plates you ever did see!

Our home for the holidays

It's cold outside, why not come on in...

our living room

The only thing still missing is the tree, it is up but it is a little shy since it hasn't gotten fitted out yet. It all naked and wimpy looking. So that will have to wait for another post. But for now, all our dear friends and family can feel like you were with us for the holidays!

A little holiday cheer

No real purpose for this post, other then I am so grateful I have my family. I have an awesome husband, and with him I have a wonderful day, every day. My kids are hilarious! They are all (for the most part) always in happy mode. And I guess since the season is upon us, I am just extra grateful for all that we have been blessed with. Enough of my gratitude. Now enjoy these amazing, happy pictures!

The Thanksgiving feast

On Friday Fuad and I took Rory to school for his pre-K Thanksgiving party. I was so happy that Fuad could come this year! We had fun meeting some of the kids in Rory's class, and spending time together. Unfortunately Rebecca was not feeling 100%. But at least she looked adorable. Rory had a ton of fun enjoying spending time with his teachers and his family all together. Here's to another wonderful year, and we are grateful for the fantastic family we have!

On another note, Rebecca's hair is growing SO fast lately. She must be going through some strange growth spurt. hahaha, I love having a girl. This was a couple of pictures i took before we left for The party. She unbuckled the buckle all by her self and then just kept yelling "I DID IT!" Our Rebecca is one silly chick indeed!

Fireplace Makeover

Most everything in our house was regular builder grade, cookie cutter design when we moved in. And while it is good stuff, it did not feel like "us". So year by year, we save, tweak, enhance, and change things to make this feel more like our home. Now lucky for us we have a couple of saints that live up the street, and one of those saints is also handy with home improvement!! So with his help we got one more little thing accomplished.....the fireplace mantle. It has bothered us since day 1 that our wonderful, yet massive TV is about the same size as the mantle, and causes us to loose our lovely focal point. So we essentially just framed it out and extended it to the ceiling.

Before our TV and fireplace seemed to compete for the title as the focal point of the room.

But afterward, the fireplace won!

On a side note, eventually the kids will be old enough that we can hang our curtains back up rather then the sad little valences we have now. But until then, they just sit and wait!

trick or treat!

We had a wonderful Halloween! Each year the kids are getting better and better at it. We kept busy this year with parties, activities and of course going round the neighborhood. We also have a TON of candy to show for it!!! Rory and Dakota were off and running from house to house, getting goodies and saying their "thank yous" Poor Rebecca just got carried around the second half of the hood. But her little red riding hood costume was a huge hit! All in all we had a great weekend and I am so happy I have such a silly family!
