family fun night.

We thought we would try something different for family night,so we had the kids help us make pizzas! They were so thrilled that they got to help pick and assemble them. Dakota also helped me make a fruit salad...complete with redi-whip! Then we all went and played in the backyard for a while. I think Rory is over his worries for the old play gym. Rory is doing very well now with his brother gone at school. And Dakota is doing so well at school. It seems that the timing was perfect for dakota to start going. I can not wait to see what the future will bring for us!

the new playground

Fuad worked like a dog all weekend to get the new playground up... And he did a great job! He is so beat though. He knocked his knee out of whack and all. But the kids are so excited about it,it makes all the work worth it! Rory was a bit confused, he kept looking for the old playground set. He LOVED having a swing set again though. And Dakota could not get out there to play on it fast enough! He was so happy to have the telescope up,he pretended he was on a pirate ship. So now all the other playgrounds around us have become "the other pirates." Dakota is working hard to find the tresure first.

Rory turns 2

Well, Rory is now 2 years old! We went out for dinner on his birthday with some friends. Then on Saturday we celebrated with his cake and ice cream. Uncle Paul and aunt Jackie came over and we all played and had a great time. We are so happy that we have them close by to celebrate all the special occasions. Then this evening we went to another friends house to celebrate their son,Jonas, turning 2 as well. Happy Birthday Jonas! hard to believe how fast they grow up.

Day at the park

We went to the park for the morning,so that Dakota could get some bike riding in. He is doing really well, until he has to go downhill...he still freezes up once in a while. He is getting there though. And of course there was Rory, just being Rory! The kids love it when Fuad gets a chance to come along. It's so fun to watch them all playing together. Dakota had a GREAT first week at school! He keeps saying he wants to stay at school forever. He seems to have ajusted to being away from home, and is making alot of new friends.

my first day of school!

Today was Dakota's first day of school. He woke up at about 7am or so,and soon after came back downstairs fully dressed with backpack and all, announcing he was ready to go. So of course,I had to get him to slow down, eat breakfast, and then he watched some cartoons to distract him. But by 8:15 he was asking for help with his shoes.(he has the tie up kind now.) I love that he was so eager. I am sure the excitement will soon diminish. Rory was also ready to go... We pulled up to drop off Dakota, and Rory looks at him and said, "two bye-bye." and then just yelled "GO" for the whole ride home. I told him his day will come soon enough. But now he has his new kitchen all to himself,so he is no longer worried!
