Kids room tours

Dakota sat with me while I was looking back at some cuteness here on the blog (like his pre-k graduation) and he asked me if I took pictures of his new room. Dakota and Rory have switched rooms. I did not ever bother, so he asked if I could put some of his cool grown up kid room. Here we are!

This is what was Dakota's room, and is now Rory's bedroom. It seems to suit him much better!

Last but not least, here is Rebecca's room. It has not changed very much, but there are 1 or 2 small things. And this way she is not left out of the grand tour!

Small summer projects

I have been getting a start on one or 2 small projects that needed doing. First up was a beautiful little table Rebecca got from Mema and grandpa Jack. It was a great color green, and was just perfect...except that there was one or 2 small chipped areas. Of course Rebecca found the weak spot and started taking the loose wood splinters off.   so I kept it in our room until I could figure out what to do with it. Today was that day. I took it outside and began with removing what was remaining of the loose areas, super sanded it, and then painted it a very light blue. (the original color of Rory's room) I liked it once it was done, but didn't love it. because it was so light you couldn't see some of the sweet detail it had. So I grabbed a mahogany touch up stain pen and went over the edges and wiped it off partilly with a damp cloth. the end result...LOVE!

next I had a lamp that was rescued of the curb one morning. It looked alot like the one we had in Fl. before Fuad attempted to pack it during a move. Only thing I hated was that it was a sort of brass color....no thanks. all it took was a can of spray paint, and now, good as new!

Lastly, I have some playtime with the kids, and a DIY barn to build them, so I better get a move on!

Heroes convention

We went to the Heroes convention today and had a blast! Dakota got to meet many of his favorite superheroes, and the man reponsible for quite a few, Stan Lee! Fuad also got to meet some heroes and villians, and did lots of comic book browsing! We got to spend time with Fuad's brother, and his wife who also came to enjoy the convention. Rory, Rebecca and I were impressed with all of it, and we are happy to have spent our family time having such fun!

Superheroes unite

In brightest day, in darkest night, no evil shall escape the Carrera's sight! So I saw a picture of a couple kids at a party dressed up as superheroes and loved it. So when Rory's therapist came over with these adorable cape/mask sets, I knew what I was going to do for summer pictures. Thanks to them and a handy red toy chest from mom, and they were SET! I love these 2 more then life itself, and am so endlessly proud of the young men they are turning out to be!

Sweet girl

Fuad watched the boys the other day so that Rebecca and I could take a break from them and have a bit of "mommy girl/Becca girl time". We always love going to stores and looking around, but Rebecca had been telling Fuad she wanted her picture taken,so we opted to do that instead. This girl LIVES to be in front of a camera! lucky I had a lovely new chair from my mom that was begging to be included so we brought it along. Oh my love! As always we laughed till we cried and cuddled for a bit to watch the sun set. I love having a daughter. More to come of the boys very soon!

Let's get the Summer started

We have officially reached the start of Summer here! I am so excited to be able to get out and do things with all my kiddos together. You know, in baby steps. We had a fun day with friends yesterday to celebrate the end of school, and today we have been laying around watching movies and lazing about it PJ's. Dakota got his first perfect attendance award, and got 3 A's and a B+ on his last report card! We are very proud of our sweet Kota! Rory will continue getting ABA throughout this summer and is really doing well with it. Rebecca is still working hard to keep up with her brothers and has now decided she is a princess... I know it had to happen at some point I guess. As for Fuad and I we are still exercising like mad trying to each loose the last few Lbs. Fuad is doing awesome and is now 198! I have yet to weigh myself this week... but will soon.
