52 week project, week 34

Week 34:Black and white

As I was out with Rebecca taking back to school pictures I asked her what she was most excited about. This look of deep thought and worry came over her like a wave and she replied, "I am a little scared to start Kindergarten mommy..." it is a big milestone for her, and I told her that I just know she will love this new adventure!

Back to school 2014

And they are off to start another school year. Rebecca will begin Kindergarten...yes. You read that correctly. She is so excited and only a tiny bit nervous. We know she will do great! Rebecca got to meet her teacher and the assistant and really likes them both.

By now the boys are pros and are ready to go. Rory is not 100% sure he wants to give up his days of playing and imagination for schoolwork, but I am sure he will get into the swing of things soon enough. He is already in 2nd grade!
Dakota is in 5th grade this year and gets to enjoy being the top grade in school for one wonderful but brief year before he moves on to middle school. He is happy about 5th grade, but a little curious to see how much more work comes with the move up a grade. We are proud of these kids and Love them so much. I have only shed a few tears that all 3 kids will be in school, and I expect I will shed a few more once they get back home from their first day back!

Happy 10th Birthday Dakota

I am a little behind on posting this, but our sweet boy turned 10! We enjoyed a yummy cinnamon roll breakfast, did some shopping, hung out with friends, and got to see my parents for dinner and cake! We had a great day and we are so proud of our Dakota and cannot believe he is 10 already.

Week 32: Solitary

Rainy days are especially hard for Rebecca. While all three kids are stuck indoors for the day, the boys usually team up to build Legos and She quickly becomes the odd one out. Lucky for me Becca enjoys painting so much and that frown turns into a smile each time!

Week 31: Landscape

It is not terribly breathtaking, but it is the view out my bedroom window in the morning. To me it is beautiful!

Dakota's 10th Birthday shoot

 

Well here we are, One week to go till Dakota has officially hit 10 years old. I can't believe how fast that time passed by.   

Know what else I can't believe? This YOUNG MAN standing in front of the camera, where I was sure I just had a boy.... Seriously? What is happening??? He looks so grown now. He requested I post the picture of him with his arms crossed because you can see arm muscle and he thinks it's cool. WHAT?!? Once I am done writing this post I may need to go have a good cry!

  Dakota is such an awesome kid. Loves snuggling, video games and eating. He loves rock music, and still wants to spend as much time as possible with his younger siblings. He is starting to care more about how he looks, and planned this entire little shoot we did, from the clothes to location an all.
