The Thanksgiving feast

On Friday Fuad and I took Rory to school for his pre-K Thanksgiving party. I was so happy that Fuad could come this year! We had fun meeting some of the kids in Rory's class, and spending time together. Unfortunately Rebecca was not feeling 100%. But at least she looked adorable. Rory had a ton of fun enjoying spending time with his teachers and his family all together. Here's to another wonderful year, and we are grateful for the fantastic family we have!

On another note, Rebecca's hair is growing SO fast lately. She must be going through some strange growth spurt. hahaha, I love having a girl. This was a couple of pictures i took before we left for The party. She unbuckled the buckle all by her self and then just kept yelling "I DID IT!" Our Rebecca is one silly chick indeed!

Fireplace Makeover

Most everything in our house was regular builder grade, cookie cutter design when we moved in. And while it is good stuff, it did not feel like "us". So year by year, we save, tweak, enhance, and change things to make this feel more like our home. Now lucky for us we have a couple of saints that live up the street, and one of those saints is also handy with home improvement!! So with his help we got one more little thing accomplished.....the fireplace mantle. It has bothered us since day 1 that our wonderful, yet massive TV is about the same size as the mantle, and causes us to loose our lovely focal point. So we essentially just framed it out and extended it to the ceiling.

Before our TV and fireplace seemed to compete for the title as the focal point of the room.

But afterward, the fireplace won!

On a side note, eventually the kids will be old enough that we can hang our curtains back up rather then the sad little valences we have now. But until then, they just sit and wait!

trick or treat!

We had a wonderful Halloween! Each year the kids are getting better and better at it. We kept busy this year with parties, activities and of course going round the neighborhood. We also have a TON of candy to show for it!!! Rory and Dakota were off and running from house to house, getting goodies and saying their "thank yous" Poor Rebecca just got carried around the second half of the hood. But her little red riding hood costume was a huge hit! All in all we had a great weekend and I am so happy I have such a silly family!
