Mom....I'm bored!

So generally when the kids have a break from school we go out on playdates, or some sort of place for entertainment. What my children don't seem to get is that these rules don't apply at christmas time! For one thing, it is still flu/ strep season and all sorts of other nastiness out there. Second, ok,we are literally 2 DAYS away from christmas. Everytime I leave the house lately I feel like I am in a can of sardines, not to mention Rory gets so uncomfortable with so many people so close. So we have been trying to lay low this winter break. As a result, my boys who have more toys then they know what to do with come to me and whine "MOMMMM, I'M BORED!" So I gave them a tub of sidewalk chalk and sent them to the backyard. Do you know those 2 were outside playing for like 3 hours! And with no complaints, or tattle-tailing??? I was blown away! They must have a touch of the christmas spirit about them, and sensed I needed a bit of paitence left for the rest of the holidays!Merry Christmas everyone, we wish all of you happy holidays!
